The Manchester United player, 25, has been sporting a bloodied mark on the front of his head in Barbados after undergoing a hair transplant operation last week.
Although he has been keeping it under wraps most of the time under baseball caps, the striker did show it off as he removed his hat at the exclusive Sandy Lane Hotel.
But with his pale skin perhaps Wayne should have been keeping the tender area on his head completely covered as after a day in the sunshine the footballer was displaying a T-shirt line tan, complete with bright pink arms and a red neck.
Despite his brief appearance in the sun, Wayne wisely spent a lot of Wednesday in the shade due to the soaring heat.
Coleen managed to fare better than her husband and showed off an impressive tan despite only being in the sunshine for one day.
The family arrived in Barbados on Monday after jetting over from Manchester airport.
Coleen was understandably apprehensive about boarding the nine-hour flight with their 18-month-old son Kai.
The couple jetted off to the £2,000-a-night hotel after Wayne secured a huge payrise after threatening to leave Manchester United.
The Rooneys have been fond of Barbados for years and built a £5million house on the island's 500-acre Royal Westmoreland development last year.
The six bedroom villa comes with an infinity pool and breathtaking sea views from the bedroom, and the living room areas.
Other familiar celebrity faces with holiday homes on Barbados includes ex-boxing champion Joe Calzaghe, Wayne's team-mate Rio Ferdinand, Gary Lineker, cricketer Freddie Flintoff, and TV hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
